Microsoft is set to roll out a new “Prevent Screen Capture” feature in Teams starting in July 2025, aimed at stopping unauthorized screenshots during virtual meetings.
When activated, the feature will black out the meeting window if a screenshot attempt is detected, thereby safeguarding sensitive content shared during calls.
According to Microsoft’s 365 roadmap, the feature will be available on Teams desktop apps for Windows and macOS, as well as mobile apps on iOS and Android.
Users on unsupported platforms will be automatically limited to audio-only mode to prevent access to shared visuals. However, Microsoft cautions that physical photos of screens may still bypass this safeguard.
