Microsoft has announced passkey support for Microsoft consumer accounts. This means you can now say goodbye to the hassle of remembering passwords and the vulnerabilities they expose you to.
Microsoft “consumer accounts” refer to personal accounts for accessing Microsoft services and products such as Windows, Office, 365, Outlook, One Drive, Copilot, and Xbox Live.
Passkeys offer a superior alternative to traditional passwords, relying on cryptographic keys and secure authentication methods like biometrics or device PINs.
This approach makes them far more resistant to phishing and breaches. Users will no longer need to remember complex passwords, opting for quick and easy authentication.
