Fujifilm has increased the prices of many of its popular cameras and lenses in the United States starting August 1.
The price hike is a response to a new 15 percent import tariff on products made in Japan.
Some of the most affected products include:
- Fujifilm X100VI: now priced at $1,799, up from $1,599
- Fujifilm X-T5: now $1,899, up from $1,699
- Fujifilm GFX100 II: now $8,299, up from $7,499
- Lenses: most have gone up by $50 to $150
Fujifilm says it had no choice but to raise prices because of the added costs from the new tariffs. The company had already moved some of its production out of China to Japan years ago to avoid earlier trade issues, but this time Japan is also affected.
Some popular models, like the X100VI and GFX100RF, have even been paused for orders in the U.S. as Fujifilm deals with pricing and shipping challenges.
Retailers like B&H, Adorama, and Moment have already updated their prices, and these new prices are expected to stay.
If you pre-ordered a camera before August 1, you might still get the old price—but some stores could ask you to re-confirm your order with the higher price.
