Amazon is introducing new Alexa Plus shopping features designed to make it easier to track your orders and avoid missing out on discounts.

The upgraded AI-powered assistant works much like Amazon’s Rufus chatbot and can automatically watch for price drops on products you’re interested in. It can even buy items for you the moment they fall below the price you set. A new shopping dashboard is also rolling out this week on the Echo Show 15 and Echo Show 21 to help you keep track of your purchases.

These Alexa Plus tools were first announced in February and began rolling out in June. They can monitor items in your Amazon basket and wish list, or track any specific product you ask for. For example, you can tell Alexa to notify you when the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer goes below $300. You can also allow Alexa to automatically purchase the product at that price using your default shipping address and payment method.

Amazon recently added the same auto-buy feature to its Rufus AI chatbot in the Amazon Shopping app. While price alerts can be helpful, users should be cautious about accidentally revealing gift purchases to others in the same household.

Echo Show 15 and Echo Show 21 are also getting a new shopping command center called Shopping Essentials. It appears to combine features from several existing widgets into one place to make shopping and tracking orders more convenient.
