Snap Inc. and Perplexity have announced a major partnership that will bring Perplexity’s AI-powered answer engine directly into Snapchat, giving nearly one billion users a new way to ask questions, explore topics, and learn about the world—all within the app.

Starting in early 2026, Perplexity will be available inside Snapchat’s Chat interface, allowing users to type questions and receive clear, conversational answers backed by verified sources. The partnership highlights Snap’s growing position as a trusted platform for AI companies to reach a large and highly engaged mobile audience. With over 943 million monthly active users, including more than 75% of 13–34-year-olds across 25 countries, Snapchat offers AI partners a privacy-safe and interactive environment.

Under the deal, Perplexity will pay Snap $400 million over one year, a mix of cash and equity, as the feature rolls out globally. Revenue from the partnership is expected to start contributing in 2026.

Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas said the integration supports their mission to “serve the world’s curiosity” by meeting users directly on the platforms they already use. Snap CEO Evan Spiegel added that the partnership aims to make AI more personal, social, and fun, seamlessly blending into everyday conversations on Snapchat.

The new integration marks an important step for Snap as it works to make Snapchat a platform where top AI innovators can engage with users in creative and trustworthy ways. Snapchatters will continue to access the existing My AI chatbot, while Perplexity will serve as an advanced answer engine offering real-time, credible information and deeper exploration options within the app.
