TikTok, a short-form, video-sharing app is announcing that it will give you at least a vague idea of why your video is gone, by naming the specific policy it fell afoul of. That’s pretty similar to how other companies do it.

“Explaining our enforcement actions while reminding people of our policies has helped reduce the rate of repeat violations, and visits to our Community Guidelines have nearly tripled. We’ve also seen a 14 percent reduction in requests from users to appeal a video’s removal. We believe this helps foster greater understanding of the kind of positive content and welcoming behavior that makes our community thrive. “
