Google just rolled out a major update to its Gemini AI models, including a new 2.5 Flash-Lite version.

But one key feature went unmentioned in the official announcement — the Gemini mobile app now appears to support video uploads.

According to reports from 9to5Google, users on Android and iOS can now upload short videos directly into the Gemini app and ask the AI to describe the clips or answer questions about the video content. This opens up new possibilities for visual content analysis, similar to how users currently upload images for AI feedback.

However, not everyone can access the feature just yet. Google hasn’t officially confirmed the rollout, and availability seems to vary by device or region. It’s also important to note that the video upload feature is currently limited to mobile apps — there’s no web version support at this time.

If you’ve updated the Gemini app recently, check to see if the video upload option has appeared. For now, it looks like only a select group of users are getting early access.
