TikTok users are reporting an unusual issue where the app continues to send LIVE notifications from accounts they have already blocked. The behavior has sparked discussions across online communities, with many questioning whether TikTok’s blocking feature is working as expected.
Blocking an account is designed to prevent unwanted interactions and stop users from seeing each other’s content. However, several users claim they are still receiving push notifications whenever blocked creators start a livestream. In many cases, tapping the notification either opens an error or redirects users to content they can no longer access because the account has already been blocked.
During testing, I experienced the same issue. After blocking several TikTok accounts specifically to stop repeated LIVE notifications, the app continued sending livestream alerts from those blocked accounts. The behavior remained unchanged even after confirming that the creators were listed in the blocked accounts section, suggesting the problem may not be limited to isolated user reports.
The exact cause of the issue is currently unknown. It may be related to a delay in synchronizing blocked accounts with TikTok’s notification system, or it could be a bug affecting how the platform generates LIVE recommendation notifications.
At the time of publishing, I have contacted TikTok for comment regarding the issue but have not yet received a response. This article will be updated if the company provides an official statement or releases a fix addressing the problem.
