YouTube has announced a new integration with Amazon that allows eligible creators in the U.S. to tag Amazon products directly in their content and earn a commission when viewers make qualifying purchases.

The feature works across Shorts, long-form videos, and livestreams.

The update gives creators a more direct way to turn product recommendations into revenue while bringing Amazon’s huge product catalog directly into YouTube’s shopping experience. Previously, creators promoting Amazon products often had to use Amazon Associates links in their video descriptions and rely on viewers clicking or copying those links before making a purchase.

Amazon is now part of YouTube’s Shopping Affiliate Program, allowing creators to select and tag products directly within their content. YouTube says Amazon will provide a curated selection of popular and trending products for creators to tag. If a creator cannot find a particular product, they can request that it be added through YouTube Support.

The feature also supports automatic product tagging. When enabled, YouTube can review a creator’s recent uploads and automatically identify eligible Amazon products that can be tagged.

Creators will not get detailed analytics showing earnings for individual products or specific videos. Instead, YouTube Studio will display their overall daily earnings. If a viewer later returns a purchased product, the corresponding commission will be deducted from the creator’s balance.

Although only eligible U.S. creators can currently add Amazon product tags, viewers around the world can see those tags. YouTube says it may automatically match tagged products with trusted local merchant offers, allowing creators to earn commissions from eligible international purchases. If no suitable local merchant is available, viewers will be directed to Amazon’s U.S. website, where a commission can be earned if the purchase is completed there.
