Meta is rolling out a new feature on Threads that allows users to hide images or text containing spoilers, according to CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

The test enables users to blur content by simply tapping on an image or highlighting text and selecting the “mark spoiler” option. Viewers can choose to reveal the hidden content by tapping or clicking on it.

The feature is reminiscent of Reddit’s “spoiler” tag and is designed to give users more control over the content they see while scrolling. It’s particularly useful for avoiding unintentional plot reveals from TV shows, movies, or other media.

Meta spokesperson Alec Booker confirmed to The Verge that this is a “global test,” though the company hasn’t disclosed how many users currently have access to it. Spoiler displays also vary by device: on desktop, content is hidden behind a gray block, while mobile users will see floating dots covering the spoiler area.

Booker added that while the feature is currently optimized for mobile, improvements for the desktop experience are underway.
