Samsung has added a cool new feature to its smart fridges — they can now recognize different voices in your home and show personalized info based on who’s speaking.

Thanks to the built-in Bixby voice assistant, the fridge can tell who’s talking and bring up things like your calendar or photo gallery. So, if you ask, “What’s on my schedule today?” the fridge will show your calendar, not someone else’s.

It can also help if you’ve lost your phone — ask the fridge to ring it. And for people who have trouble seeing, the fridge will automatically match your phone’s screen settings, like color inversion or grayscale, making it easier to read.

To make things more convenient, Samsung is also adding a new way to wake up Bixby. Instead of saying “Hi Bixby” or tapping the screen, you can double-tap the fridge display when it’s off, and Bixby will pop up.

These features are rolling out first to the 2025 models of Samsung’s Bespoke AI fridges with Family Hub. Other smart fridges with smaller screens will get the update later.
