Tencent has rolled out a new AI feature that brings an intelligent agent called ClawBot directly into WeChat, allowing users to interact with AI through simple chat messages.
The tool appears as a contact inside the app, making it easy for users to send commands and get tasks done without leaving WeChat. With over a billion monthly users, the integration gives Tencent a powerful edge in making AI part of everyday digital life.
ClawBot is powered by OpenClaw, an open source AI agent that can perform real actions such as sending emails and transferring files. Instead of just answering questions, it works like a digital assistant that can carry out tasks on behalf of users.
Interest in AI agents has been growing rapidly in China, with users rushing to try new tools. This surge has pushed tech companies to move faster, even as regulators warn about possible security and privacy risks linked to these systems.
Tencent has already introduced a broader AI lineup this month, including QClaw for individuals, Lighthouse for developers, and WorkBuddy for businesses, showing its wider push into the agent space.
