Accidentally deleted some important files from your NAS device? Don’t worry, you are not alone, and there is a good chance you can get them back. Whether you are using a Synology, QNAP, or another NAS system, recovering lost files is often easier than it sounds. In this guide, we will walk you through simple steps to help you restore your data without needing to be a tech expert. Just take a deep breath and follow along because you can do this.
The software we’ll be using for this recovery process is EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, a trusted tool for restoring lost or deleted files from NAS devices. Before we begin, make sure to download the software from the official EaseUS website to ensure you’re getting a safe and up-to-date version. Once the download and installation are complete, you’re all set to start the recovery process. Let’s get started.
Launch EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional
Open EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional software on your computer, then click on ‘NAS & Linux’ from the options in the top left corner.
Then click on NAS Recovery. In most cases, the recovery software will automatically connect to your NAS device. If it takes too long, click on ‘Connect Manually’ to proceed.
To connect manually, make sure the SSH service is enabled on your NAS device. Then enter the IP address, port, username, and password, and click ‘Connect Now’
It may take a little time to establish the connection. Once connected, the software will begin scanning for lost data. This process can take a while, so I recommend sitting back, enjoying a cup of coffee, and letting it finish the search.
Once the scan is complete, browse through the recovered files and check their sizes. Make sure the file size matches the original deleted file or is close enough to be worth recovering. If the file size looks incomplete, it could mean the file is corrupted or the scan was interrupted before finishing.
Once you find the deleted file, simply right-click on it and select ‘Recover’.
Choose a destination path to save the recovered file. You can select any drive or folder of your choice.
Finally, the software will recover the deleted files.
Different situations can affect the chances of recovering deleted Files from a NAS Device. For example, accidental deletion has an 89% recovery success rate, while inaccessible data has an 81% chance. If the NAS hard drive is formatted, the recovery success drops to 76%. RAID reconstruction failure has a 55% chance of success, while NAS disk failure still offers an 81% recovery rate. Good Luck
