Pinterest is facing major backlash after users across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Reddit reported sudden account suspensions and pin deletions, many without warning or clear reasons.

Users on the r/Pinterest subreddit are expressing confusion and frustration, claiming their accounts were banned even though they hadn’t posted anything that violated Pinterest’s guidelines. Some say they only saved content related to makeup, fashion, or crafts. In one case, pins about quilting, cross-stitching, and Minecraft bunk beds were flagged as “adult content.”

“I got suspended without getting to know why,” said one Reddit user. “I’ve only saved beauty-related posts, and I got an automated reply after reaching out to Pinterest.”

Pinterest acknowledged the issue in a post on X (formerly Twitter), saying:

“We hear your concerns about recent account deactivations… accounts with violative content may be deactivated as a result.”

Although Pinterest allows users to appeal bans, many say they’ve received messages saying the review team is overwhelmed and no timeline can be given for appeals. Some users believe an AI moderation system may be causing the problem, but Pinterest hasn’t confirmed this.

We’ve contacted Pinterest for more details and will update this story if they respond.
