OpenAI has rolled out a new, lower-priced ChatGPT subscription tier called ChatGPT Go, expanding it globally after earlier launches in India and select international markets.

The plan is now available worldwide for $8 per month, positioning it between the free ChatGPT experience and the $20-per-month Plus tier.

According to OpenAI, ChatGPT Go is designed for users who want more frequent access to its latest fast model, GPT-5.2 Instant, without paying for a full Plus subscription. In regions where Go was previously available, the company says users adopted it quickly for everyday tasks such as writing, studying, image creation, and problem-solving.

Go subscribers receive significantly higher usage limits than free users, including more messages, file uploads, and image generations. While OpenAI does not publish exact caps for files or images, the company says Go offers roughly 10 times more access than the free tier. Free users are currently limited to 10 GPT-5.2 messages every five hours before switching to a smaller model, while Plus subscribers receive substantially higher limits.

Although OpenAI hasn’t disclosed precise message limits for Go, the tier appears to sit just below Plus in terms of overall capacity. In addition, Go users get access to larger memory and context windows compared with the free version, enabling longer and more complex conversations.

With ChatGPT Go, OpenAI is clearly targeting cost-conscious users who rely on AI regularly but don’t need the full feature set of Plus, signaling a broader push to make advanced AI tools more accessible across global markets.
