Nintendo is raising the prices of its original Switch products, including the regular Switch, Switch OLED, Switch Lite, and some accessories.
The company made the announcement on Friday, saying the change is due to “market conditions.”
While Nintendo didn’t share the exact new prices, a short update on Target’s website showed how much the cost might go up:
- Nintendo Switch: $339.99 (up $40)
- Switch OLED: $399.99 (up $50)
- Switch Lite: $229.99 (up $30)
These listings were later changed back to the old prices, but similar price increases have already started in Canada. There, the regular Switch and Switch Lite went up by $20 CAD, and the OLED model increased by $40 CAD.
Nintendo is also raising prices on some Switch 2 accessories, amiibo figures, and the Alarmo device. However, the prices of Switch 2 consoles and all games (both digital and physical) will stay the same for now.
This price hike comes after a new order signed by U.S. President Donald Trump that puts higher tariffs on products from more countries—including Vietnam, where many Nintendo products are now made. This 20% import fee may be part of why Nintendo is adjusting prices.
