Meta is giving Threads users a new way to share longer content without relying on screenshots of text.
The company has introduced a text attachment feature that allows posts to include up to 10,000 additional characters, far beyond the platform’s current 500-character limit.
To use the feature, you can tap a new rounded rectangle icon with lines on it. This opens a simple word editor where you can type and format your text with bold, italics, underlines, and strikethroughs. Once published, the text attachment shows up as a small block beneath your main post. Tapping it expands the full content for readers.
The tool also integrates links: if you add a link in your main post, it will appear inside the expanded attachment as well. This makes the feature especially useful for sharing longer explanations, article previews, or blog post summaries while still directing users to external sources.
