Google Wallet will no longer support PayPal as a payment method in the United States starting June 13, 2025, according to a support page spotted by Android Authority.

As part of this change, any PayPal accounts currently linked to Google Wallet will be automatically removed on that date.

Google has already disabled the option to link new PayPal accounts to Wallet as of April 11, 2025. Users who previously relied on PayPal to fund transactions through Wallet will now need to manually add a credit card, debit card, or bank account to continue using the service.

The company confirmed that PayPal-branded debit cards will continue to be supported.

“To deliver smart, flexible, and more rewarding ways to pay, PayPal constantly improves their offerings,” Google stated in its FAQ, while directing users to additional information shared via email from PayPal.

Users with recurring payments set up through PayPal in Google Wallet are advised to update their payment method directly on the merchant’s website.

Additionally, PayPal transaction history will no longer be visible in the Wallet app and must be accessed through PayPal’s platforms.
