Google has started rolling out built-in Gemini AI features to Chrome on iOS, giving iPhone and iPad users access to some of the same tools that arrived on the desktop browser earlier this year.
The update brings a small but noticeable change to Chrome’s interface: a new Gemini icon now appears on the left side of the address bar, replacing the Google Lens shortcut. The icon looks like a notebook page with the Gemini star symbol in the corner.
With this new integration, users can tap the icon to ask Gemini questions about the webpage they’re viewing or request a quick summary of the content without leaving the browser. While the experience is still more limited than using Gemini directly on its dedicated app or website, the feature is designed for convenience, making it easier to get instant help while browsing.
To try it out, users must be signed in to Chrome on iOS, as the feature does not work in Incognito mode. For now, Gemini only supports English, and the feature appears gradually, meaning some users may still see the old Google Lens icon. Updating Chrome from the App Store may help trigger the change, but Google says the feature is rolling out slowly and may take more time to reach everyone.
