Fortnite is officially back on the Google Play Store in the United States, five years after it was removed during Epic Games’ fight against major app store policies.
Android players no longer need to sideload the game manually, as the popular battle royale title can now be downloaded directly from Google’s app marketplace again.
Epic Games confirmed the news on X, saying Fortnite’s return is tied to Google complying with an injunction from the U.S. District Court. The move is part of the ongoing legal dispute between the two companies, which has led to a proposed settlement that still needs final approval.
Epic did not share a timeline for when the game will return to the Play Store in other countries, telling players to wait for further updates.
