Google is rolling out an update to Gmail’s client-side encryption (CSE) that allows end-to-end encrypted emails to be sent across different providers, including Microsoft Outlook.
With this change, Gmail users who enable CSE can send secure emails outside of Gmail, and recipients on other platforms will receive a notification about the encrypted message. To read it, they’ll be able to sign in with a guest Gmail account.
The feature is designed to enhance secure communication for organizations, but it remains limited to Google Workspace Enterprise Plus subscribers.
