Bluesky has started rolling out a drafts feature, addressing one of the most requested tools from its growing user base.
Users can now save unfinished posts by opening the new post screen and tapping the Drafts button in the top-right corner. The experience works similarly to other major social platforms, allowing users to return to and edit saved posts before publishing.
The launch of drafts comes as Bluesky outlines its plans for the year ahead. The company recently shared a roadmap focused on improving its Discover feed, offering better recommendations for whom to follow, and making conversations feel more real-time across the platform. Bluesky also admitted it still needs to improve core features as it continues to grow.
While Bluesky has built a loyal community, it still trails competitors in some basic areas, including private accounts and support for longer video uploads. Even so, the platform has seen steady growth since opening to the public in early 2024.
According to data pulled directly from the Bluesky developer API, the platform has now grown to more than 42 million users, highlighting rising interest in alternative social networks beyond established giants.
