Roblox is introducing stricter safety rules after facing lawsuits that accuse the platform of failing to protect children from sexual predators.

The changes include a ban on sexual or suggestive content and new restrictions on access to adult-themed areas such as virtual bedrooms, bars, and clubs. These spaces will now be limited to verified users aged 17 and older or approved developers.

Roblox is also strengthening its age verification system, adding more parental controls, and using AI tools to detect inappropriate behavior in real-time. Profiles of users under 13 will also have tighter privacy settings.

The crackdown comes after Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill filed a lawsuit claiming Roblox allowed predators to target minors. Similar cases have been filed in Georgia and California, raising concerns that the company has not done enough to keep young players safe.

With nearly 40% of its users under 13, Roblox faces growing pressure to prove that it can balance creativity with child safety.
