Apple is reportedly testing a new feature that will allow users to scroll through apps on the Vision Pro headset using only their eyes, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

The feature leverages the device’s eye-tracking capabilities and is expected to work across all of Apple’s built-in apps.

Gurman notes that Apple is also working to open this functionality to third-party developers, potentially making eye-based navigation a more integral part of the Vision Pro ecosystem. While specific details on how the scrolling will function remain unclear, it might involve holding your gaze at the edge of a screen or looking above or below a UI element to initiate scroll actions.

Currently, a version of eye-based interaction is available through the Dwell Control accessibility setting, where users can trigger actions by focusing on items. However, this method is considered slow and less intuitive — suggesting Apple’s new feature could offer a more refined experience.

Other scrolling methods on the Vision Pro include gesture-based controls (pinching and moving your hand), using a Bluetooth mouse, or a wireless game controller. Apple is expected to unveil more details at its upcoming WWDC event in June, where it plans to announce a “feature-packed” visionOS 3 update.
