Apple has increased the price of its Apple Music subscription plans across several markets, with customers in the United States now paying more for individual, family, and student memberships.
The company said the latest price adjustment is the result of rising music licensing costs.
In the United States, the Apple Music Individual plan now costs $11.99 per month, up from $10.99. The Family plan has increased from $16.99 to $19.99 per month, while the Student plan now costs $6.99 instead of $5.99. The updated pricing is already reflected on Apple’s subscription pages.
The price increase is not limited to the United States. Reports indicate that Apple has also raised Apple Music subscription prices in the United Kingdom and several European countries, with additional markets expected to receive similar adjustments. Apple has not yet confirmed the full list of affected regions.
This marks the first Apple Music price increase since October 2022, when the company also raised the prices of Apple TV Plus and Apple One subscriptions. The latest changes come as streaming companies continue to adjust their pricing in response to higher operating and licensing expenses. Spotify recently introduced its own subscription price increase in the United States, raising the cost of its Premium plan from $11.99 to $12.99 per month.
Apple has also updated pricing for some Apple One bundles in the United States. The Family plan now costs $27.95 per month, an increase of $2, while the Premier plan has risen to $39.95 per month. The Individual Apple One plan remains unchanged at $19.95 per month.
The latest price changes reflect the growing cost of music streaming services as providers continue investing in content, licensing agreements, and platform improvements. Customers on existing plans will likely be notified before the new pricing takes effect on their next billing cycle.
