Apple has announced that its next major launch event will take place on September 9 at 1 PM ET. The event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park, with a livestream available on Apple’s website. This year’s event carries the tagline “Surprise and shine.”

The September event could be one of Apple’s biggest in years if the company finally introduces its long-rumored foldable iPhone. An apparent dummy unit has suggested that the device could use a wider design similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8.

Apple is also expected to introduce updated Pro and Pro Max models. The new phones are rumored to receive more modest upgrades compared with last year’s major redesign. Based on Apple’s naming pattern, they are expected to be called the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The standard iPhone 18 may not be part of the September event, however. Apple is reportedly planning to delay its launch until next year. The company is also rumored to introduce an iPhone 18e and a second-generation iPhone Air in 2027.

The event will also mark a major change in Apple’s leadership. John Ternus is expected to attend his first iPhone launch event as Apple CEO after taking over from Tim Cook on September 1. Ternus previously served as Apple’s hardware chief.
