Apple is expanding its Self-Service Repair program to include a wider range of iPads, starting tomorrow.
The program will now support recent models, including the A16-powered iPad, the iPad mini with A17 Pro, and the latest M4-based iPad Pro. The M2 iPad Air and current M3 versions are also eligible, making it easier for users to carry out repairs on more Apple tablets at home.
Under this program, users will be able to order spare parts such as batteries, displays, cameras, and charging ports, as well as rent Apple’s official repair tool kits. While Apple has yet to announce the exact prices for iPad components, iPhone parts currently range from $69 to $379, depending on the component, and iPad parts are expected to cost more due to their larger size and complexity.
Originally launched in 2022 with support only for iPhones, Apple’s repair initiative has steadily expanded to include select Macs and displays. In addition to the iPad update, Apple also announced plans to bring the program to Canada this summer.
Furthermore, Apple has named MobileSentrix as a new U.S. distributor under its Genuine Parts Distributor program. This will allow independent repair shops to purchase official Apple parts more easily through third-party sellers.
