Amazon is reportedly preparing for another major round of layoffs that could affect as many as 30,000 corporate employees, according to reports from Reuters and Bloomberg.

The job cuts are expected to begin as soon as Tuesday, marking one of the company’s largest workforce reductions in recent years.

The layoffs could impact nearly 10 percent of Amazon’s 350,000 corporate workers, with departments across logistics, gaming, payments, and cloud computing reportedly affected. This move comes as Amazon continues to streamline its operations and reduce costs amid slower growth in some business areas.

Amazon previously carried out significant layoffs between late 2022 and early 2023, cutting around 27,000 jobs across various teams, including AWS, devices, and HR. Those cuts were part of a broader effort to make the company “leaner” following rapid expansion during the pandemic years.

If confirmed, the upcoming layoffs would represent one of the largest job reductions in Amazon’s history and continue a trend of tech industry downsizing seen across major companies like Google, Meta, and Microsoft in 2024 and 2025.

Amazon has not yet issued an official statement regarding the reports.
