Adobe is bringing its Premiere video editing app to Android, giving phone users another way to edit videos on the go.
The app is now available to download for free from the Google Play Store.
Premiere is the mobile version of Adobe’s professional video editing software. Adobe first launched the app on iPhone, and it is now expanding to Android devices, including foldable phones. On supported foldables, users can continue editing whether the phone is folded or opened, with the editing timeline and video preview adapting to both screen configurations.
Adobe has traditionally been known for professional creative software used by filmmakers, photographers and marketers. However, the growing number of people creating content on their phones has increased competition from easier and often cheaper apps such as Canva, CapCut and Instagram Edits. Bringing Premiere to Android is part of Adobe’s effort to make its editing tools more accessible to mobile creators.
The company says mobile-only editing is becoming increasingly popular among creators, particularly in markets such as India and Brazil. Premiere is designed to serve both beginners and more experienced users, with templates available for people who want a simpler way to start editing.
The app also includes tools such as Enhance Speech, which can improve voice recordings and reduce background noise. Users can also publish videos directly to YouTube Shorts through Adobe’s partnership with YouTube.
Adobe is offering Premiere on Android for free, and users do not need an Adobe account or subscription for basic editing. Some features, including Adobe Firefly AI tools and cloud storage, may require an account or paid subscription.

The mobile app also supports automatic captions and allows users to export videos without watermarks. However, it does not offer the full range of editing capabilities found in Adobe Premiere on desktop computers, so users working on longer or more complex projects may still need the desktop version.
