YouTube is testing a new two-person YouTube Premium subscription plan, aiming to offer more flexibility and value for smaller households.

According to Moneycontrol and Android Authority, the pilot program is currently live in India, France, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

“YouTube is experimenting with new ways to provide greater flexibility and value to Premium subscribers, including offering a two-person Premium plan at a reduced cost,” confirmed YouTube spokesperson Alex McQuiston in a statement to The Verge.

In India, the pricing breakdown places the two-person plan in the middle of existing tiers:

  • Individual plan: ₹140.00/month
  • Two-person plan: ₹219.00/month
  • Family plan (up to 5 users): ₹299.00/month

This makes the two-person plan a cost-effective option for couples or roommates who want to share benefits like ad-free videos, offline downloads, and background play.
