YouTube has launched a voluntary exit program for its U.S.-based employees, offering severance pay to those who decide to leave.

The news was confirmed by the company after being first reported by sources. CEO Neal Mohan shared the details with employees in an internal memo on Wednesday.

In the memo, Mohan explained that YouTube is reorganizing its product teams into three new groups, all reporting directly to him. The “Subscription Products” team will handle YouTube Music, Premium, and other paid services. The “Viewer Products” team will focus on improving the experience for users across the main YouTube app, YouTube Kids, Learning, and Trust & Safety. The “Creator & Community Products” team will work on tools and features that support creators and their communities.

YouTube said that no jobs are being cut as part of this change. The voluntary exit program simply gives employees the choice to leave with a severance package.

The announcement came as YouTube’s parent company, Alphabet, reported strong third-quarter earnings. YouTube’s ad revenue reached $10.26 billion, up 15% from last year, showing the platform’s continued growth despite the internal changes.
