Microsoft has rolled out a major Patch Tuesday update for Windows 11, introducing several new features, security improvements, and quality-of-life enhancements.
One of the biggest changes gives users much more control over Windows Update by allowing them to postpone updates for up to 35 days at a time and continue extending that pause repeatedly.
The new update is part of Microsoft’s broader effort to improve the Windows 11 experience by addressing long-standing user complaints while boosting overall system performance. Alongside the new update controls, Microsoft has also fixed numerous security vulnerabilities and says future releases will include even stronger protections as it increasingly uses AI to identify potential security flaws.
The update also brings several features that were first previewed in an optional update last month. These include a new “Point-in-time restore” feature that lets users restore their PC, installed apps, settings, and personal files to an earlier state if something goes wrong. Microsoft has also added more customization options for Widgets, improved the Magnifier tool for greater precision, and enhanced stability for some Bluetooth devices.
With this release, Microsoft continues its push to make Windows 11 more reliable, customizable, and user-friendly while giving users greater flexibility over when and how system updates are installed.
