Microsoft has released a fix for a Windows 11 issue that caused bright white flashes when opening File Explorer in dark mode.
The problem appeared after users installed the KB5070311 optional update and could also occur when creating new tabs, toggling the Details pane, or navigating between sections like Home and Gallery.
The December KB5072033 Patch Tuesday update fully resolves the flashing issue, restoring a smooth dark-mode experience.
The update also fixes a networking problem that caused virtual machines to lose connectivity after host restarts and updates PowerShell to warn users when scripts use insecure web-download commands.
