WhatsApp is continuing its slow rollout of the new “Liquid Glass” design, but most users still haven’t seen it in the official app.
The refreshed look first appeared last year in limited testing, mainly on the bottom navigation bar and parts of the Chats tab, but its wider release has been noticeably delayed.
According to WABetaInfo, the redesign is now being developed further, with Meta working to bring the Liquid Glass style into the in-chat interface as well. Although the feature hasn’t been officially released even to beta testers yet, it has been spotted in development builds.

WhatsApp is rolling out the new Apple's new Liquid Glass design language for the iOS 26 app, and it's available to some users!

The updated interface is expected to include a floating chat bar along with a semi-transparent navigation bar featuring subtle blur, shadow, and depth effects. These visual changes aim to give WhatsApp a more modern and polished look, aligning different parts of the app under a unified design system.
Earlier updates have already introduced the Liquid Glass style to features like the voice message player, showing that the redesign is gradually spreading across the app. However, the rollout remains limited, and many users are still waiting to experience the new interface.
For now, there’s no confirmed timeline for when the Liquid Glass redesign will be available to everyone. Like many beta features, especially those still hidden in the app’s code, the final release could take time as development continues.
