WhatsApp is starting to support voice and video calls directly on the web, removing the need to install the desktop app for basic calling features.
According to WABetainfo, the new calling option is currently available to a limited number of beta testers. Users can make and receive one-to-one voice and video calls straight from WhatsApp Web using a browser.

This update is important because it allows people to use calling features without downloading the WhatsApp desktop app, which means sharing less system-level data with Meta. For users who prefer lighter access or use shared computers, this is a useful improvement.
