WhatsApp is introducing a range of new features, with a major focus on artificial intelligence to improve messaging.

The most notable update is the expansion of its Writing Help tool, which can now generate AI-powered suggested replies based on conversations.

Originally launched last year, Writing Help already allowed users to rephrase, proofread, and adjust the tone of messages. With the latest update, WhatsApp aims to make it even easier for users to craft the perfect response directly within the app, reducing the need for external tools.

The feature is optional, as many users still prefer natural and personal conversations over AI-generated messages. WhatsApp says chats remain private even when using Writing Help. Users can access the feature by tapping the chat bar, selecting the stickers icon, and then choosing the AI pencil icon.

In addition to AI writing tools, WhatsApp is rolling out a smarter way to manage storage. Users can now find and delete large files within individual chats, allowing them to free up space without deleting entire conversations. For example, users can remove media files while keeping message history intact.

Meta AI is also being integrated into photo editing chats. Users will be able to enhance images by removing unwanted objects, changing backgrounds, or applying different styles directly within WhatsApp.

The update also brings improved chat transfer options. Users can now move chat history from iOS to Android and within the same platform more easily. WhatsApp is also adding support for using two accounts on iOS, a feature that Android users already have.

Another small but useful addition is smarter sticker suggestions. As users type emojis, WhatsApp will recommend relevant stickers that can be quickly inserted into chats.
