Spotify is introducing new settings that let users turn off all video content in the app, including music and podcasts.

The feature is being rolled out worldwide and will work across platforms and devices. It also allows Family Plan managers to restrict video content for every person on the subscription.

The controls have not appeared on all accounts yet, including some in the UK, but once available, they will show up in the “Content and display” section on mobile and under “Display” on desktop. Spotify’s existing option to disable Canvas clips, the short looping autoplay visuals introduced in 2019, is now being expanded with two new toggles. One switch turns off music videos, while another blocks all other video content, including podcasts and vertical video.

For users who manage a Family Plan, these settings can be applied individually to each member, much like Spotify’s current managed account controls. When video access is disabled at the plan level, affected users will no longer be able to switch to video versions of songs or podcasts.
