Sony has announced that its PlayStation 5 console sales have topped 40 million units worldwide.
“We’re thrilled to see that PlayStation 5 is continuing to be such a popular choice for gamers around the world,” said Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. “We’re grateful for the continued support of our fans, and we’re excited to bring even more great games and experiences to PlayStation 5 in the years to come.”
The PlayStation 5 was released in November 2020, and it has been one of the most popular consoles of the generation.
The console is powered by a custom AMD Zen 2 CPU and a custom RDNA 2 GPU, and it supports up to 8K resolution and 120 frames per second.
