Samsung has officially launched the beta version of One UI 8, its customized take on Android 16, bringing a wave of AI enhancements and user experience upgrades.
The beta is now available for Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra users in the US, UK, Germany, and South Korea — although notably, the new Galaxy S25 Edge is left out for now.
One UI 8 also brings better support for Samsung’s diverse device lineup, especially foldables and tablets. A new split-screen feature allows users to slide one app to the edge of the display while focusing on another — a move reminiscent of multitasking tools seen on the OnePlus Open.
Additional updates include a redesigned Reminder app for better task management, a cleaner interface for Quick Share, and full support for Android 16’s Auracast feature. Auracast enables hearing aids and compatible earbuds, including Galaxy Buds 3, to connect to shared audio streams in public spaces.
Users can join the beta through the Samsung Members app. The official rollout of One UI 8 is expected this summer, alongside Samsung’s next-gen foldables — likely the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7.
