Samsung has announced a new update that allows Galaxy S26 users to share files with iPhones.

Starting Monday, the company began supporting compatibility between its Android-based Quick Share feature and Apple’s AirDrop, making it easier to send photos and other files across different devices.

The update is currently available for the Galaxy S26 series and allows users to exchange photos, videos, contacts, and other files with iPhones running on iOS. Until now, Quick Share and AirDrop worked separately, even though both use Bluetooth to detect nearby devices and transfer data.

Samsung said this new feature is designed to improve user convenience by making communication between different operating systems more seamless. The company also mentioned that support will expand to more devices in the future.

The feature will roll out in major markets like the United States and Europe starting Wednesday.

In another update, Samsung has partnered with Hyundai Motor Group to introduce a new Car to Home service. This feature lets drivers control home appliances directly from their car using Samsung’s SmartThings platform.

With this service, users can turn on devices like air conditioners, air purifiers and robot vacuum cleaners from their car’s screen. For example, drivers can activate a home mode to switch on lights and cooling systems as they get close to home. They can also use an away mode to turn off unused appliances while a robot vacuum cleans the house.
