Aylo, the parent company of Pornhub, has agreed to pay $5 million to settle charges from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the state of Utah.
Regulators accused the company of deceiving users with a “zero-tolerance” policy while hosting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and non-consensual content.
Under the settlement, Aylo must implement stricter safeguards to block CSAM and verify that all uploaded content involves consenting adults. The company is also required to delete material that lacks proper consent verification and post a notice acknowledging the allegations.
The agreement mandates independent third-party audits for 10 years, with potential fines of up to $10 million for future violations. While Aylo did not admit wrongdoing, it stated that the settlement reflects measures already adopted or underway.
