NBCUniversal is hiking the price of its streaming service Peacock, with both monthly and annual subscription rates set to increase starting July 23 for new customers.

Existing subscribers will see the new prices kick in after August 22, depending on their billing cycle.

The ad-supported Peacock Premium plan will jump from $7.99 to $10.99/month, while the ad-free Premium Plus plan will rise from $13.99 to $16.99/month. Annual plans are also getting more expensive — Peacock Premium will cost $109.99/year (up from $79.99), and Premium Plus will be $169.99/year (up from $139.99).

The price hike comes ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics, which Peacock will stream live. The service also continues to grow its lineup of original shows, including Poker Face, Love Island, and Dr. Death, and will soon begin streaming NBA games.

In addition to the increase, NBCUniversal is testing a new “Peacock Select” tier priced at $7.99/month or $79.99/year. This ad-supported plan will include content from NBC and Bravo, along with a limited selection of other titles.

The move puts Peacock in line with other major streaming platforms that have increased prices recently, including Netflix, Max, and Amazon Prime Video.
