Patreon is rolling out a major update to its pricing structure, merging its Pro and Premium plans into a single standard offering starting August 5th, 2025.

The new unified plan will take a 10% cut of creators’ earnings, replacing the current 8% Pro and 12% Premium fees.

Existing creators won’t be affected by the price hike. Those already on the Pro plan—or who join before August 4—will continue paying the 8% rate but will gain access to the expanded feature set. Creators currently paying 12% under the Premium plan will be automatically reduced to 11%, or can switch to 8% by dropping certain features like merchandise.

Under the new pricing, features such as coaching, support staff, and team accounts will be included in the 10% plan. However, merchandise tools will become a paid add-on, adding 3% extra, effectively creating two pricing tiers again.

Patreon says the increase supports its broader vision: “Since 2019, we’ve expanded beyond just payments to include media hosting, community, and discovery,” the company noted in a statement.

The company also plans to update video pricing later this summer. Currently in early access, Patreon Video will soon offer 100 free hours of upload per month, a shift from its previous lifetime limits.
