Opera is entering the AI browser race with Opera Neon, a premium browser that puts artificial intelligence in control of your tabs, browsing, and online tasks.

Unlike traditional browsers, Neon is designed to act more like an assistant — handling actions, research, and navigation on your behalf.

Opera describes Neon as a browser that “acts at your command,” capable of opening websites, finding the best prices, managing security, and conducting research. Instead of simply being a tool for browsing, the company envisions Neon as a true AI-driven agent that delivers actionable outcomes users can share or build on.

The new browser is available for Windows and macOS, and Opera has begun sending out early access invitations.

Pricing starts at $59.90 for nine months under an early-bird deal, but after that, Neon will cost $19.90 per month.

Opera Neon isn’t alone in pushing the “AI-first browser” concept. Competitors like Perplexity Comet are already gaining traction, while Microsoft Edge is embedding AI with its Copilot mode. With browsers increasingly moving toward agentic AI experiences, Opera is positioning Neon as its bold first step into the future of web browsing.
