Microsoft has officially launched Copilot Vision for Windows, a powerful new extension of its AI assistant that can analyze your screen in real time to provide help, insights, and coaching.
Rolling out today in the US for free on both Windows 10 and Windows 11, Copilot Vision allows users to share apps or browser windows so the AI can assist with tasks like navigating complex tools such as Adobe Photoshop or interpreting webpages and images.
“When you choose to enable it, Copilot Vision can see what you see and talk to you about it in real time,” Microsoft’s Copilot team explained. “It acts as your second set of eyes… and answers your questions as you go.”
Unlike the controversial Recall feature, which continuously captures snapshots of your screen, Copilot Vision is entirely opt-in. Users must manually activate it by clicking a glasses icon inside the Copilot app and selecting the window or app they want to share, similar to screen sharing in Microsoft Teams.
This feature is part of Microsoft’s experimental Copilot Labs initiative, but does not require a Copilot Pro subscription. It is available now in the US, with support for iOS and Android also included.
First demoed at Microsoft’s 50th anniversary event in April, Copilot Vision can highlight parts of your screen, provide step-by-step guidance, and help users navigate unfamiliar apps or content, effectively acting as a real-time productivity coach.
