Microsoft is bringing another one of its big Xbox titles to PlayStation. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will launch on the PlayStation 5 on December 8, 2025, Sony confirmed during its latest State of Play event.

The popular flight simulation game, developed by Asobo Studio, originally debuted on Xbox and PC in November 2024.

The PS5 version will fully support the DualSense controller, including adaptive triggers, gyro controls, and haptic feedback. Communications from air traffic control towers will even play through the controller’s speaker, while the lightbar and touchpad add extra immersion.

For VR fans, Asobo also revealed that PSVR 2 support is in development. The update will arrive in 2026, allowing players to experience the entire game in virtual reality using the PSVR 2 headset and Sense controllers. Meanwhile, the PS5 version will continue to receive free world and simulation updates, just like on other platforms.

A PS5 beta test is also being held ahead of launch, with sign-ups open now. Preorders for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PlayStation 5 begin today.

This move is part of Microsoft’s broader strategy of expanding its once-exclusive titles to more platforms. In recent months, Forza Horizon 5, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Hellblade II, and Gears of War Reloaded have all arrived on PS5. Microsoft also plans to bring some games to Nintendo Switch 2 in the coming years, starting with Indiana Jones in 2026.
