A major cybersecurity competition, Pwn2Own Ireland 2025, is offering a $1 million reward to any researcher who can successfully exploit WhatsApp without any user interaction—a type of vulnerability known as a zero-click exploit.
It means the hacker could run code on a phone even if the user doesn’t tap or open anything.
The event will take place in Cork, Ireland, from October 21 to 24, 2025. It is sponsored by Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp. Meta hopes this reward will encourage security researchers to find problems before real attackers do.
