Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on November 19th, 2026, pushing back from its previous date of May 26th, 2026.
The game was initially planned for 2025. It will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
“We are sorry for the additional wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the polish players deserve,” Rockstar said. “We are excited for fans to explore the state of Leonida and return to modern-day Vice City.”
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick added, “If a game requires more polish to be the best version of itself, we will give it more time. We feel confident in this release date.”
GTA VI will follow Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as they navigate a criminal conspiracy across Vice City and the wider state of Leonida. Rockstar described the story as one where the protagonists must rely on each other to survive after a heist goes wrong. The first GTA VI trailer debuted in late 2023, with a second trailer released in May.
