Google is rolling out a new feature called “Calling Cards” in its Phone app, giving Android users a more personalized calling experience.
The update, available with version v188 of the app, is gradually rolling out worldwide.
The feature lets users customize how incoming calls from contacts appear on their screen. You can choose a full-screen image, stylized fonts, and colors to create a unique look for each contact. Unlike Apple’s Contact Posters, however, Calling Cards only change how you see calls on your own device—recipients won’t see your custom design when you call them.
To set it up, users can update the Google Phone app and look for a banner that says “Introducing calling card: Customize how you see your contact when they call you.” From there, you can select an image from your gallery, camera, or Google Photos, and then personalize fonts and colors.
This feature is part of Google’s wider Material 3 Expressive design refresh, aiming to modernize the look and feel of core Android apps like Phone and Contacts.
