Google has just released its newest text-to-image model, Imagen 4, and it’s now available to try for free on AI Studio, but only for a limited time.
According to Google, Imagen 4 is designed to handle a wide range of image generation tasks and shows noticeable improvements over the previous version, especially when it comes to generating images with text included. For now, users can explore the model without paying, but the free access won’t last forever.
Google has introduced two versions of the new model. The regular Imagen 4 model is great for everyday use and will eventually cost $0.04 per image once the free period ends. The second version, called Imagen 4 Ultra, is even more advanced. It follows detailed instructions more precisely and delivers sharper, more accurate results. Because of its higher performance, it will cost $0.06 per image.

While Google’s AI chatbot Gemini doesn’t yet support Imagen 4, the company says that integration will come soon for paid users. Until then, anyone interested can try the model through AI Studio to see what it can do.
Google’s move puts it in direct competition with other top AI image tools, offering creators, designers, and developers another powerful option to turn ideas into visuals in just seconds.
